Formerly known as the Prince George United Way, we have changed our name to better reflect the vast area in which we provide services and the many communities in which we operate.
Fundamentally, this United Way will continue to conduct the same caring, responsive, accountable work in Prince George that we have been conducting in this community for 40 years.
With your involvement and support, we will continue with our strategic direction to be even more active and engaged in community building efforts throughout northern BC. We began this process with the establishment of our Fort St. John office in 2004, and subsequent on-going discussions with key community members in several other northern BC communities, specifically around community investment and campaign. We are involved as a partner in other regional initiatives, including funding regional partner agency services and programs, Measuring up the North, and Success by 6.

The United Way of Northern British Columbia supports needed and vital services and programs throughout northern British Columbia. We have the mandate to identify current and emerging social and community health issues affecting the most vulnerable in our northern BC communities. We work with hundreds of community, business and individual partners to invest in community programs, services and new initiatives that make a real and lasting difference in underlying community issues.
Our commitment is to invest donations where they will have the greatest impact in northern communities, to keep fundraising costs low, and to provide accountability about how donations are making a difference. Ensuring donations reach the most people possible through United Way’s planned approach is our mission.
