Overview
Each year, hundreds of companies and organizations and thousands of individuals show their commitment to people in our communities by supporting the United Way throughout northern BC.
The outpouring of time and resources from all of our volunteers, donors, agencies, business and labour supporters, is a testament to how much can be accomplished when we work together. Especially now, when many of our donors and supporters faced uncertainty in your own jobs, industries and businesses, you came through for those who need our help more than ever .
On behalf of the community, our thanks go out to the people and organizations who help make giving a way of life:
- Employee contributors in the workplace;
- Affiliated labour unions;
- Volunteers in the workplace (our Employee Campaign Coordinators and Campaign committee members);
- Leadership Givers (donors who contribute $500 or more annually to United Way);
- Corporate donors;
- Foundation donors;
- Committed individual donors outside the workplace (retirees, philanthropists and direct mail recipients);
- Community volunteers -- those who volunteer directly for United Way or with a member or affiliate agency;
- In-kind supporters providing equipment and services at no charge; and
- Sponsors of our special events
United Way donors and contributors are strengthening families, nurturing healthy and successful children, ensuring dignity and inclusion for individuals struggling with personal, emotional and physical challenges, and enabling seniors to remain involved and active in communities in northern BC.
Our capacity to serve communities in northern BC is dependant on the leadership from individuals and groups, like you, that form the very essence of communities. Working with these individuals throughout northern BC we are committed to addressing the causes of our most critical social issues.
The changing value of commodities in the world economy has had a significant impact on communities in northern BC. United Way recognizes and applauds the success and money raised thanks to the support of employees, businesses and individuals. This support will focus community investment, enable real success, and make lasting community change.
Our thanks again to all of you who have made the commitment to make northern BC a better place for everyone – because we believe in our community; we believe in possibility! Thank you for choosing to make a difference in the lives of many, every day!
